About Spike Polite & Sewage
Spike Polite & Sewage NYC is an influential punk band originating from the turbulent streets of New York City's Lower East Side. Led by multi-talented artist Spike Polite, the band was born out of a politically charged riot in Tompkins Square Park, evolving from its initial incarnation as HumYn Sewage to Sewage nYc and finally, Spike Polite & Sewage NYC. Their work is deeply rooted in the raw, unfiltered energy and rebellion that epitomizes the punk rock genre. They have consistently used their music as a medium to critique societal injustices, mirroring their lived experiences on the gritty streets of NYC. Throughout their career, the band has left a significant imprint on the underground punk scene. Their current line-up consists of Spike Polite on vocals and guitar, renowned musician Michelle Shocked on bass and vocals, and Anthony Romano on drums. Despite trials and tribulations, including Spike'snear-fatal accident in 2013, the band has persisted, releasing new music, touring extensively, and remaining an iconic representation of NYC's punk legacy.
